WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Rand Paul has named former presidential candidate John McCain’s National Political Director, John Yob, as National Political Director and Chief Strategist of his Michigan RANDPAC operation.
Senator Paul stated, “John Yob is one of the brightest political operatives in Michigan and across the nation. His experience and expertise will help me make many vital decisions. John joins a growing team which will be focused on electing constitutional conservatives into every office across the United States.”
John Yob has played a leading role in numerous campaigns in Michigan and across the nation. As a consultant to Terri Lynn Land’s statewide election in 2002, Yob ensured victory by historic margins, Yob was also instrumental in her reelection in 2006.
During Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign, Yob served as the National Political Director from August 2007 until February of 2008 during his historic comeback primary wins, subsequently running political operations for the state and national convention delegate operations in 2008. He ran state and national convention delegate operations for Rick Santorum in 2012.
Yob has also served in leading roles with various Michigan campaigns, including as a consultant to Rick Snyder’s race for Governor in 2010, Bill Schuette’s win for Attorney General and Brian Calley’s win for Lt Governor. Yob has a long history of convention victories including winning 47 out of 48 contested races in Michigan conventions dating back to 1998 and has managed state convention operations in 38 states.
Yob added, “The Republican Party is going to need to learn how to reach out to non-traditional Republican groups in order to win a national election again given the changing demographics in a post-Obama era. Senator Paul has the ability to inspire a new generation of conservatives, libertarians, and disaffected Democrats in states across the country. I am proud to join the team and look forward to building the strongest political operation in America.”
Recently, Yob gained attention for utilizing high tech tools to innovate the get out the vote (GOTV) systems that are used by Republicans nationally and put to the test in the Sasse and Clawson primary victories.
Doug Stafford, Executive Director of RANDPAC, commented on his relationship with Yob, “We welcome John Yob to the team, having worked with him before, I know that John will be a tremendous asset to RANDPAC. John has helped elect countless conservatives to office and together we look forward to electing even more.”
RANDPAC is a political action committee whose goal is to elect Republicans across the United States who are committed to less government and more freedom. Senator Paul has actively traveled across the nation campaigning on behalf of Republicans and expects to maintain an aggressive schedule into 2015 and beyond.
